Achieving Meaningful Use of Member Portals, Part 1

The 2009 HITECH legislation provides incentives to health care providers that can attest to ‘Meaningful Use’ of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) according to several defined objectives. As the financial and clinical benefits of improved member access to health information grow, health insurance carriers and their members have an opportunity to benefit from improved member access to longitudinal health information and analytics, and linked health records from disparate providers.
